Last weekend I celebrated my birthday with my beautiful family! Birthdays are so much more fun when you have little guys who are so excited about celebrating. Connor has some pretty specific ideas about what it means to celebrate a birthday. First of all there must be balloons, party hats and horns!
There should be cake – they made me a yummy cake shaped like a star! Kevin cut away pieces to make the star shape and then set them aside. Where ever he put them, the kids found the extra pieces Saturday morning an I found them laughing hysterically eating it up! I sort of gave in since it was freezing rain and we had to cancel gymnastics for the morning.
And there should be presents! This year after whining a bit, they surprised me with a new camera! We went through many, many replacements of the last one. While it was still a point and shoot, it was a hefty size with a few cool features like being able to switch to manual, but I hardly every used it. We were now at the point that the camera’s internal battery was dying (the date and time had to be reset every five seconds) and it was eating through batteries like crazy. The last replacement was a refurbished model so I knew were living on borrowed time. Kevin got me a Sony Cyber-shot! It is a cute little thing that takes higher quality photos, has better zoom and lots more cool features and effects. It even allows you to upload your photos to your computer via your wireless! However, it does seem to take a while so just sticking the card in might still be the quickest way!
After it warmed up and it was safe to drive, we headed to Connecticut and the Bushnell Theater to see Jerry Seinfeld. This was our big birthday present to ourselves this year. We hardly ever go out and don’t ever spend this sort of money on ourselves for something so frivolous so it was definitely a a special treat.
The facility is beautiful! A blend of modern architecture and art deco design. With some cool art installations!
Here is the guy himself! Such a great show, as you would expect!
