Cape Cod Bucket List with free printable!

Every year we spend a week at Cape Cod in my husband’s family lovely house.  It is such a gift that we are able to go back year after year and have a house that we can cook in, sleep in, spread out in with two small kids.  This year I created a Cape Cod Bucket List!  I will be honest.  I can only take so many beach days.  A girl needs to sit on something besides wet sand! I created this list to help our family explore more of Cape Cod that just the beach!  Besides… the sharks….

There is a whole lot more that Cape Cod has to offer when the kids are a little older and I hope that we can start to do more things like kayaking and other educational programs. I thought I would share my Cape Cod Bucket List, keeping in mind that we have a toddler and preschooler in tow!

And if you aren’t planning a trip to Cape Cod, I created a Beach Vacation Bucket List! I think most beach communities have similar family friendly activities.  What is unique about your favorite beach vacation?

I recommend printing on white paper and then laminating.  I do this with all our bucket lists to help them last through the season and then we use a dry erase marker to check things off.  Having a bucket list at the beach definitely calls for some extra protection!

Happy Beaching!

  1. Saw this post on the Friday Favorites link-up and immediately felt “homesick.” I grew up between Boston and the Cape, so I spent all of my summers on the Cape until moving away in 93. I’m a little closer now (central NY), but still not close enough!! You definitely need to add a day trip to Nantucket to your bucket list. Might be tough with littles, but definitely worth leaving them with the in-laws to hop on the ferry and do some exploring on a nice day. Ooh, and if you’re in South Yarmouth, stop by the Candy Co. on 28 and have some Penuche Fudge for me!! 🙂

    • I have tried to talk my husband into Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, apparently they are “cape” people and don’t venture far! Love all the cape fudge! The cape is like being in a different country! I can’t wait to see the hydrangeas! Maybe I should have put “make your husband stop and pull over to take pictures of the purple hydrangeas” on the list!

      • That’s a bummer! I’d say skip the Vineyard – my first roommate out of college was from the Vineyard, so I used to spend a lot of weekends there, but Nantucket is like taking step back in time – very quaint and picturesque. So true about the hydrangeas! 🙂

  2. A day at the beach with the kids is my idea of the perfect summer adventure, but we can’t get away to a beach holiday or cottage every summer. We have many beaches within a couple hours drive of our home, and we try to explore new ones each summer. It is so worth the drive!!

  3. Love this list! We haven’t made it to Cape Cod yet, terrible really when we’ve been in Boston (well just north of it) for two years now 🙂 I’m going to bookmark this to prompt me to get the family there! #LetKidsBeKids

  4. I’ve just done my own Summer Holiday bucket type list, coincidentally. But I like your beach-specific one. We’re going away for 2 weeks to the coast at the end of this week so this could come in handy thank you!

  5. Great list. It’s a good idea to make a bucket list for a place. we frequently visit my parents caravan in the New Forest and it has made me think we should make a bucket list for there.
    Thanks for linking #LetKidsBeKids

  6. I’ve never been to Cape Cod, but maybe in the future since my sister is now in a serious relationship with someone who has a house there. I love the idea of the bucket list though, since I have the same feeling about going to the Bahamas. I can only lay on the beach so many days. This list is very creative and adaptable. Thanks for sharing.
